Are there side effects associated with GLP-1?
Nausea is the most common side effect. Additional side effects include headaches, abdominal pain and constipation. In an effort to reduce side effects, our doctors start everyone off at a low dose and increase the dosage as needed.
How does it work?
GLP-1 helps to balance out hormone levels, and in doing so helps to regulate sugar levels and curb appetite. When used in conjunction with lifestyle changes, helps patients adhere to a reduced-calorie diet and lose weight. Additionally, studies show that it may lower the risk of cardiovascular disease (heart attack or stroke) and can improve mental health.
